Sasha Moinzadeh is an Occupational Therapist with specialization in the areas of pediatrics and hand therapy. She has a clear passion for the families she works with as well as her field of OT. Constantly learning and curiously attending Pediatric OT conferences as well as other sub-specialties that enable the kids she works with to continuously thrive. Sasha founded her practice, Thrive Pediatric Clinic and formerly Bellevue Pediatric Therapy in 2005 while providing services to kids and their team in and around the Bellevue Washington area. She graduated from the Occupational Therapy program at San Jose State University in 2000 and earned a dual degree in Psychology with an emphasis in child and adolescent development.
She began her Occupational Therapy career in hand therapy after attending a specialized internship at Petzoldt Memorial Hand Therapy in Cupertino, CA. She later worked for Disneyland as their resident hand therapist as she treated the the on site Disney employees such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse after their repetitive autograph signings. She has worked in an array of pediatric settings such as pediatric early intervention (Kids Street, Long Beach, CA) a school based setting (Santa Ana School District) and later was brought on board to develop and grow two pediatrics clinics from the ground up (Tustin Speech & Language in Tustin California and Mosaic Children's Clinic that was sold to iCan in Bellevue Washington). Sasha is a lifelong learner and she is active on the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) as well as an active member of the local Sensory Integration professional group. She values collaboration with parents, other providers and teachers to treat the whole child and therefore a strong proponent of parent and educator training seminars. She has partnered with many schools and daycares in her area to further collaborate and create professional and parent education seminars to enhance learning for all (Bright Horizons, The Little School, and The Jewish Day School).
Sasha is certified and trained in the Sensory Integration Praxis Test (SIPT) and certified in a number of listening therapies such as the Therapeutic Listening program, Integrated Listening System and Somanas Therapies. She received her mentorship training at the Star Center with Dr. Lucy Jane Miller in Denver Colorado. She has received training in the DIR/Floortime Model, The Zones of Regulation program, The Alert Program for self regulation, The Learning Triad, The Neurokinesthetic Approach to Hand Function and Handwriting as well as trainings in parent education such as "Parenting the Spirited Child". Additionally, she is trained in Brain Gym, Interactive Metronome, SOS Approach to Feeding, The Beckman Oral-Motor Assessment and Intervention, The Therapeutic Listening Program, the Astronaut Training Program and Visual and Vestibular assessments and training needed for foundational writing. She is continuously studying and receiving ongoing training in the importance of nutrition and brain development as well as primitive reflex development and treatment. More recently, she has been studying and implementing the work of pioneers in the area of Positive Psychology within her treatment sessions. She has been trained and certified in the Handwriting Without Tears program and received her initial training in Handwriting Without Tears in 2002 from the founder of Handwriting Without Tears, Jan Olsen herself.
In her free time, Sasha enjoys having fun with her husband and two daughters playing tennis or volunteering her time coaching her girls athletic teams . She also finds meaning in volunteering and contributing to an array of non-profit organizations in the area ( Hopelink, Eastside Baby Corner, Bellevue Lifespring Uncork The Night Sponsor 2018, 2019, One Circle 2024 sponsorship and more). She also finds fulfillment when working out, creating healthy nutritious meals, reading to learn and traveling with her loved ones.
