My son started seeing Sasha in Kindergarten after his teacher expressed concern with his writing and other fine motor skills. He lacked confidence and was becoming frustrated in class. From the very first session he enjoyed the work she did with him , every activity was a fun game for him. Along the way, Sasha taught our family about the many components of fine motor skills, and learning to write, including core strength, learning to cross midline, sequencing and so much more. We learned fun ways as a family to continue to work on those skills during the week. She was very creative and was able to use subject matter that interested him, even starting a ‘science club’ to captivate his interest in practicing the skills he needed to work on. Within month of working with Sasha his teacher noticed huge gains in fine motor and writing skills. Today my son is a confident straight A student in the 11th grade. Much of this confidence stems from the early work he did with Sasha.

Our family cannot say enough about our experience with Thrive Pediatric Clinic! Sasha came into our lives during a very stressful and confusing time and helped get our daughter into clothing after 3 months of being completely naked, unable to leave the house. She provided support for us to understand sensory processing disorder and tools to help regulate her body and emotions. Doctors couldn’t explain what was going on and recommended we send our then 3 year old to a behavioral specialist for her clothing sensitivity. Sasha quite literally was the only bright spot during this time and has become family to us! I don’t know what we would have done without her enthusiasm, care and positivity. Mom in Kirkland WA
Back in 2004, our daughter started seeing Sasha for OT when she was two years old. Our daughter was diagnosed at 6 months old with strabismus and had corrective eye muscle surgery before she was a year old. After the surgery, we began patching and seeing Sasha for OT. Sasha educated us about the importance of body-centered senses that are equally as important as the visual system. Soon our whole family began incorporating the recommended proprioceptive, vestibular and core-based activities into our daughter’s everyday fun play. It was amazing to watch our daughter use a swing and we learned how to look at how our daughter could thrive and work through these issues. Our daughter is now 13 years-old and is flourishing, as she aspires to be an astrophysicist. We recently saw the eye specialists at the University of Washington, and they were all surprised she did not ever have an amblyopia. We are confident that all that Sensory Integration and OT education in early intervention paid off! Sasha helped bring us into the mindset that having simple and fun techniques integrated into our daughter’s everyday life will not only benefit our daughter, but our entire familial experience as we moved forward. Thank you Sasha!

When my son was first diagnosed with Autism, we went to many different therapists. We connected with Sasha through our public school and she has done an amazing job with helping our son gain important skills to function as a child in the community, home and school. Without any sensory aversions, he now brushes his teeth, bathes himself, enjoys swimming and even follows a visual schedule to cook really nutritious meals. Sasha has listened to our families needs as a whole and helped our son gain the necessary skills to communicate effectively in our family unit. Unlike other therapists who have been quick to dismiss our son due to his severe behavioral issues, Sasha has always been there to help him through! ~ S. M.

As a speech therapist, I have had the privilege of working with Sasha since 2002. Whether we were co-treating or I was picking her brain for my own education, she was always able to offer a wealth of information in the areas of gross/fine motor development and sensory integration/sensory processing that allowed me to be a more effective and well-rounded clinician. Sasha has a passion for what she does and is an excellent occupational therapist. I have referred her to many of my clients and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for pediatric occupational therapy services.
