Key Responsibilities
- Documentation and Progress Monitoring: Recording detailed notes on patient progress directly after each session.
- Therapeutic Play & Engagement: Using play-based activities to engage children, making therapy motivating while promoting coordination, socialization, and cognitive development.
- SuperPower identification for each child.
- Environmental Adaptation: Adapting environments and equipment to help children perform daily tasks more independently.
- Family Education and Training: Teaching parents, caregivers, and school staff how to use equipment or implement exercises for continued support.
- Goals and Planning Planning and implementing appropriate new goals and objectives relating to skill development as appropriate for each of the children/patients.
- Professional communication with supervising OTRs.
- Monitor progress on each child/patient
- Review of completed documentation on children to be added to caseload prior to the start of service.
- Contribute to supervision of student interns.
- Provide services to both child/patient and their caregivers for parental education and carryover into the home/community
- Monitor and track caseload requirements with new referrals as children change from caseload.
- Participate in staff development/training opportunities.
- Collaborate with our SLP and PT partners for best treatment for the child/patient
Qualifications
- Associate's Occupational Therapy Degree from an accredited program
- Current Washington State Occupational Therapy License
- 1-3 years of pediatric experience preferred
- Ability to work as a member of a team
Preferred:
- At least one year of pediatric experience
Certification and Licenses:
- Current Washington Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license
- NBCOT Certification
